Emily Smit-Dicks

  • Artist + Maker

Emily Smit-Dicks is an artist, maker and educator, originally from Canada and based in Glasgow. She co-runs a small business repurposing textile waste called Second Cashmere.

The striped fabric works in this exhibition were part of a collection of patchwork and quilted textiles made from repurposed materials for Smit-Dicks’ project Woolgathering. Inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ ‘Cloth Works’, these pieces cross surrealism and op art with the everyday.
