Frances Scott (b. 1991) is a photographic artist who has recently returned to Orkney, after working in the Technical Support Department for Photography at GSA for over eight years. Her work examines themes of memory, place, and belonging, often centred around journeys made through landscapes of personal significance. Her ongoing series Undertow is a long–term project to walk and document the coastlines of Orkney. This body of work has been exhibited widely across Scotland, and was published as a limited edition photobook by Another Place Press in 2020. Frances is a founding member of the Orkney–based Móti Collective, and a co–creator of Holm Sound, an online talk series. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
