Franz Maggs is a Glasgow-based fashion designer, artist, and Creative Pattern Cutting Technician at the Glasgow School of Art. A graduate of GSA’s Masters in Fashion Design, Franz creates bespoke garments for private clients, film, and television. Their practice blends couture craftsmanship with sustainable methods, vintage glamour, and a distinct macabre edge.

Franz is known for transforming found and reclaimed materials into meticulously constructed, emotionally resonant designs, often exploring themes of excess, transformation, and the darker sides of beauty. Drawing on a wide range of cultural, historical, and aesthetic influences, Franz’s work is defined by bold experimentation and technical precision.
