  • Visual Artist

Heather McDonald is a visual artist who draws upon her background as a machinist and pattern drafter to create textile-based sculptures which primarily explore themes surrounding the body and its fragility. The work presented at Coalesce sees precision cuts in leather create channels and cavities within flat planes which are reminiscent of surgery. Pewter ‘organisms’ are attached on to or suspended within the work, their sense of life and movement is stark in comparison to the cold, chemically treated leather.
