Kim McNeil works in digital media art and design. Re-inSpired Display Font was created as part of a research project looking at repurposing the original aluminium cladding from Geoffrey Clarke’s Crown of Thorns (1964) spire at St Michael’s Church, Linlithgow. After visiting St Michael’s church and seeing the variety of fonts used throughout the church (whether hand carved on stone into the walls or on plaques and posters), Kim created a font inspired by the plans for the spire. The screen print above shows one of the letterforms from this font.
